About

Bihar’s No. 1 law journal,
since 1968.

Patna Law Journal Reports (PLJR) has been Malhotra Publishers’ monthly journal of record for the Patna High Court since 1968. Jharkhand Law Journal Reports (JLJR) has followed the Ranchi bench since 2001. Today, the bound volumes are in every chamber and library that handles Bihar and Jharkhand litigation. PLJR Online is those volumes — digitised, structured, and searchable.

What we publish

Reportable judgments of the Supreme Court of India, the Patna High Court (in PLJR), and the Jharkhand High Court (in JLJR) — selected and headnoted by our editorial board. The print edition continues monthly. From 2026, PLJR is published in 6 Volumes per year, each Volume containing nearly 1,500 pages. The online edition extends the print corpus with structured analysis on every case, a citator that flags overruled precedents, and the supporting tools a working litigator needs.

Editorial standards

Headnotes — Placitums, in journal idiom — are written by practising lawyers and reviewed by the editorial board before publication. Smart View, our structured extraction of facts, issues, arguments, reasoning, and ratio, is machine-generated and labelled as such; it is a research aid, not a substitute for the headnote or the judgment itself. Where a judgment is reported in another journal, parallel citations are recorded.

The publisher

PLJR Online is a product of PLJR Web. PLJR is published by Malhotra Publishers; JLJR is published by PLJR Publications. Editorial enquiries: support@pljronline.com. Subscriber support: support@pljronline.com.
