Terms of Use
Effective: 13 June 2026 · Last updated: 13 June 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the PLJR Online mobile application, the website at pljronline.com, the API at api.pljronline.com, and the WhatsApp search bot operated by PLJR WEB(collectively, the “Service”).
By creating an account, downloading the app, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
The Service is intended for adult legal professionals, judges, law students, and researchers. By using the Service you represent that:
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under Indian law.
- The information you provide at sign-up is accurate and complete.
- You are not barred from using the Service under any applicable law, rule of court, or order of a disciplinary body.
2. Your account
You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. You agree to:
- Keep your password and one-time passwords confidential.
- Sign out on devices that are not exclusively yours.
- Notify us at support@pljronline.com immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
- Not share, sell, transfer, or sub-licence your account to anyone else.
One account per user. Sharing an account with colleagues, junior counsel, or chamber staff is not permitted. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts where we detect concurrent or impersonating use.
3. Subscriptions and payments
3.1 Plans
Basic features of the Service are free to use. Premium features — including full Smart View summaries, the Argument Lab, the Judicial Lab, advanced filters, and unlimited PDF export — require a paid subscription.
Plan tiers, prices, and feature inclusions are listed within the app and on our website. We may add, remove, or modify plans from time to time; existing subscribers will be notified of any change that affects their current plan before it takes effect.
3.2 Billing
Subscriptions are billed in advance through our payment processor (Razorpay). Charges are made in Indian Rupees and include applicable taxes. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge the payment method you provide for the duration of your subscription, including automatic renewal at the end of each billing cycle.
3.3 Renewal and cancellation
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time from your account settings in the app or by writing to support@pljronline.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain access to premium features until that period ends.
3.4 Refunds
You may request a full refund within seven (7) days of your first subscription purchase, provided that you have not made substantial use of the premium features. To request a refund, write to support@pljronline.com from your registered email.
Subsequent renewals are non-refundable. Refunds are processed to the original payment method within fifteen (15) business days of approval.
We reserve the right to refuse refund requests where we believe the Service has been misused or where the request is made in bad faith.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service in any way that violates Indian law or the law of any jurisdiction from which you access the Service.
- Scrape, crawl, harvest, or otherwise extract bulk content from the Service through automated means.
- Redistribute, republish, resell, or commercially exploit editorial content (headnotes, Smart View summaries, citator data, AI-generated outputs) without our prior written permission.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the app.
- Use the Service to harass, defame, or violate the privacy of any person.
- Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or content that infringes the rights of others.
- Attempt to bypass paywalls, rate limits, or any other technical access controls.
- Share your account credentials or premium access with anyone else.
- Misrepresent your professional credentials when registering for role-restricted features (such as the Judicial Lab).
We may, at our discretion, suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms, with or without prior notice.
5. Intellectual property
5.1 Court judgments
The text of court judgments is in the public domain. You may freely cite, quote, and rely on the substantive content of any judgment displayed in the Service.
5.2 Editorial content
The following materials are the proprietary intellectual property of PLJR WEB and its editorial board:
- Headnotes and case summaries prepared by our editors.
- Smart View summaries and other AI-generated extractions.
- Citator data, treatment classifications, and citation graphs.
- Topic indices, subject headings, and editorial classifications.
- Translations, annotations, and commentary.
- The Service's design, software, brand, and trade dress.
You may use this editorial content for your own personal legal research and may quote from headnotes in court submissions with proper attribution to PLJR or JLJR. You may not reproduce or distribute editorial content in any commercial publication, database, AI training corpus, or competing service without our prior written permission.
5.3 Your content
Personal notes, bookmarks, briefcases, and other content you create within the app remain your property. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to store and process this content solely to provide the Service to you.
6. Disclaimer — not legal advice
The Service provides legal information, not legal advice. Content available through PLJR Online is for informational and research purposes only. It is not a substitute for the advice of a qualified advocate or legal counsel. No advocate-client relationship is created by your use of the Service.
While we make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy, we do not warrant that:
- The full text of every judgment is free from typographical or transcription errors.
- Headnotes capture every legal point decided in a judgment.
- Smart View summaries or AI-generated content are free from error or omission.
- The citator reflects every subsequent treatment of a precedent.
- Cases marked “good law” continue to be good law at the time of your reliance.
You are solely responsible for verifying any judgment, headnote, or summary against the original source before relying on it in court. PLJR WEB accepts no liability for any consequence arising from reliance on Service content in legal proceedings.
7. Service availability
We aim to keep the Service available continuously, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance, upgrades, or for reasons outside our reasonable control (including network outages, third-party service disruptions, and force majeure events).
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time. Where we make material changes that affect paid subscribers, we will provide reasonable notice.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- PLJR WEB and its officers, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
- Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or ₹5,000, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PLJR WEB and its officers, employees, and contractors from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of:
- Your breach of these Terms.
- Your misuse of editorial content or Service features.
- Your violation of any law or the rights of any third party in your use of the Service.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute-resolution clauses — will survive.
We may terminate or suspend your access at any time, with or without notice, for breach of these Terms, misuse of the Service, or for any other reason in our reasonable discretion. Where we terminate a paid subscription without cause, we will refund the unused portion of your subscription on a pro-rata basis.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and notify you through the app, by email, or by push notification at least thirty (30) days before the changes take effect.
Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts at Patna, Bihar.
Before initiating formal proceedings, you agree to attempt to resolve the dispute by writing to support@pljronline.com and engaging in good-faith discussions for thirty (30) days.
